As you may already know, Invisalign treatment makes use of clear plastic aligners to straighten and perfect the alignment of teeth. As the first step of treatment, our dental team will gather all of the information that we need in order to develop your aligners.
First, we’ll take the time to thoroughly clean and refresh your smile; this also allows us to make sure that your smile is healthy enough for cosmetic treatment. Then, it is time for us to take an impression of your top and bottom teeth. These impressions will allow us to get a “starting point” for your smile transformation.
Then, the Invisalign lab will craft your series of aligners. Using digital imaging, we’ll be able to see how your aligners will move your teeth more and more, until your smile meets your cosmetic goals.
When you come back into the office, we’ll go over your prospective Invisalign treatment process. Then, you’ll start wearing the first of your Invisalign aligners. Every two or three weeks you will come back in to our office in order to get the next aligner in your series. We’ll simply continue this process until you finish wearing your last aligner!
Post-treatment, you will have retainers that you wear at night. These retainers will help to make sure that your teeth do not shift once you stop wearing aligners every day.
